Guitar Teacher Information
Shayan’s musical journey began in early childhood. As a kid, he would sometimes sit in on his brother’s classical guitar lessons, and his family encouraged his curiosity by gifting him small toy instruments – a guitar, a keyboard, and a microphone. He was always singing along to Iranian pop songs in the car. At nine, he tried guitar lessons for the first time but soon stopped, mainly because the full-sized guitar he shared with his brother was too big for his hands.
By around twelve, Shayan had bought the cheapest electric guitar and drum kit he could find and began teaching himself to play by ear and through online videos.
When he later moved back into his apartment in Tehran, he had to give up the drums to avoid disturbing neighbours, so he focused on guitar and songwriting instead. He spent two years taking guitar lessons starting at thirteen, began recording home demos of his song ideas, and picked up bass guitar as well. At fifteen, he also gained teaching experience as an English instructor, working with both IELTS students and younger learners eager to develop a second language.
After returning to his home in Windsor soon after, Shayan could once again play drums and sing freely without worrying about noise complaints. In recent years, he has taken vocal lessons, learned to play keys, written and recorded countless songs at home, and performed at shows around town. His enduring passion for music has now brought him to the South Windsor School of Music, where he hopes to share that passion with his community.
