South Windsor School of Music’s Music Achievement Scholarship started in April 2021 with the goals of supporting dedicated high-achieving students who are benefiting from music lessons and struggling in a number of other ways. These goals are in line with South Windsor School of Music’s Inclusion and Diversity Statement.
"Our goals are to support dedicated high-achieving BIPOC Music students."
The Music Achievement Scholarship has no deadline dates and no awarding schedule. Recipients are selected as the need becomes apparent. This is a private award - recipients are not publicly announced by the school and their teachers are not notified. Recipients are more than welcome to share the news if they'd like, and add the award to their list of achievements as they see fit. Funds have no cash value, and are automatically added as a credit to the recipient's school account.
The school recognizes that this fund alone is a small gesture, and there is a lot more work to do towards justice through education and the arts.
