Drum Teacher Information
Mark’s journey in percussion started on cymbals in the Windsor Optimist Youth Band, which he was a member of from ages 11-21. He traveled throughout Canada and Michigan with the band, winning multiple awards. He ended his run as a Percussion Section Leader, guiding the other section members in warm ups and rehearsals.
Mark got his first drum kit at age 15, purchased his own at 19 after accumulating many Long & McQuade gift certificates as birthday gifts.
For about 7 years, Mark worked as a sound technician for music venues and bars locally and on a US tour. He’s also played the drums recreationally in local metal bands.
Mark enjoys listening to complex and multi-layered music. He’s an avid concert-goer. When he can, Mark likes getting outdoors for a round of paintball, snowboarding, biking, & rollerblading.
As a teacher, Mark brings a friendly, helpful approach with the goal of passing his skills off to the next generation of young drummers. He aspires to see his students improve their natural abilities and grow into multidimensional musicians.
