Trumpet Teacher Information

Ashna currently studies at Vincent Massey Secondary School and teaches trumpet and piano at the South Windsor School of Music. She began playing piano at the age of 6 and started playing trumpet 7 years ago. She has completed her Grade 8 RCM in piano and her Grade 5 RCM in trumpet (both on-going). She participated in the Kiwanis Music Festival for both piano and trumpet, and won first place for trumpet at provincials this year. She was the winner of the Most Distinguished Brass award 2021 in Windsor-Essex County.

In the past, she played trumpet with the Windsor Symphony Youth Orchestra. She has played trumpet on numerous occasions, including Remembrance Day ceremonies, concerts, talent shows and funerals. During the pandemic, she taught piano and trumpet lessons online and helped students with their musical education. At her school, she played trumpet with the jazz band, concert band and wind ensemble. Ashna is always looking for opportunities to help students learn and improve the fundamentals of piano and trumpet.
